ACEC Indiana Annual Recognition Award Nomination Form

Each year, ACEC Indiana recognizes the leaders of the engineering community by presenting an Annual Recognition Awards program. The following awards are considered each year: Consulting Engineer of the Year, Public Service Award, Sagamore of ACEC Indiana, ACEC Indiana Life Member, President's Award and Young Engineer of the Year.

ACEC Indiana accepts one submission per firm for each available award.

**Special Instructions for Young Engineer of the Year Nominations Only

The Young Engineer of the Year Award recognizes the accomplishments of our young professionals (35 and younger as of December 31, 2025) who have contributed to the engineering profession and ACEC Indiana.

Nominations are prepared by a sponsoring firm principal and due to ACEC Indiana by May 5. Our winner will be recognized at the 2025 Annual Recognition Awards and is eligible to participate in the ACEC National Young Professional of the Year Award program the following award year. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to honor and celebrate rising stars in Indiana’s engineering community.

Eligibility

A. The nominee should be an employee of an ACEC Indiana member firm.
B. Nominee shall be 35 years of age or younger as of December 31, 2026.
C. The nominee shall be a registered Professional Engineer.

ACEC Indiana accepts one submission per firm for this award.

Please note that all nominations will be anonymous to the selection committee. We ask that you refrain from using pronouns such as he/she as well as the name of the firm. 

Providing comprehensive details that directly address the scoring criteria will significantly enhance the nominee's score.

Consulting Engineer of the Year
A current member of ACEC Indiana, who is not an officer, who has made a significant contribution to the field of consulting engineering in Indiana. Please list why he/ she should receive this award. ACEC Indiana accepts one submission per firm for this award.

Public Service Award
A non-member, perhaps a person associated with state or local government, or with another association, university, etc., who has made a contribution to the practice of engineering. Please list why he/ she should receive this award.

Sagamore of ACEC Indiana
A non-member or associate member, who does not work for a consulting engineering firm, is not a practicing engineer, and is not in public service. Nominee would have elevated the engineering profession, created good will toward ACEC Indiana or the profession, or advanced the cause of engineers or engineering issues. Please list why he/ she should receive this award.

President's Award
Recognizes an outstanding individual for their contribution to the engineering industry.

ACEC Indiana Young Engineer of the Year Award
The Young Engineer of the Year Award recognizes the accomplishments of our young professionals (35 and younger as of December 31, 2026) who have contributed to the engineering profession and ACEC Indiana.

Serve on an ACEC Indiana Committee
Serve as a Committee Chair
Graduate or currently enrolled in ACEC Indiana Engineering Leadership Program
Participate in National Engineers Week
Attend ACEC Indiana luncheons/virtual or in-person events/ golf outing
Support ACEC Indiana PAC or National PAC

Describe the nominee's professional organization involvement over the last 3 years. Please list each activity and specify the duration of involvement and frequency of meetings the candidate has been participating in the organization. Consider: 

  • ACEC Involvement-- participating on a Committee; serving in a leadership capacity on a Committee (either as chair, secretary, subcommittee chair etc.); participating in ACEC membership-wide events.
  • Other Professional Organization Involvement-- participating in an engineering or related organization; serving in a leadership capacity in a professional organization; founding a local chapter of an existing organization.
